We were proud to see Swarm members involved in the design and delivery of this online European event about climate action and system change. Following 2 days run as a mock COP involving youth activists, the final day of 20th March involved a cultural component by Swarm members Sophie Ong, Tibor Miklos and Founder David Holyoake. Sophie and Tibor worked to bring the event to life as live artists drawing in response to the ideas comments and provocations of the audience about system change. A short film of the virtual reality experience we created in our System Change Hive was also screened, helping shake things up and make clear that this was to be different from the usual talking heads events. After an impressive range of speakers including youth activists and senior officials of the EU institutions, the event organisers entrusted the final words to our David Holyoake, who led a short guided visualisation, with soundscape, into a day in a life in new socio-economic systems based on zero carbon and well-being for all. This event was free and open to all with several UK high schools participating as audience, despite Brexit.
