The circular economy is a relatively new concept that has been gaining attention due to its promise to decouple growth from resource consumption. It is being promoted by a growing number of researchers and organisations, and has already earned a prominent place in political and business realms across the globe.
The potential of a circular economy to design out waste and serve as a solution for almost all of the major environmental and economic concerns of today gives it a strong appeal. But is it actually the panacea its proponents claim it to be?
