WHO WE ARE:
Swarm Dynamics is a cross-disciplinary organisation that harnesses arts and creative thinking to help changemakers engage wider audiences on system change issues. Drawing on the talent pool of the Swarm network, we work towards a powerful counter-narrative to the dominant paradigm of neo-liberal, growth-based economies, and spread awareness and action on solutions.
WHAT WE DO:
- Creative strategy generation and development
- Art and creative communication projects
- Staff trainings in applied creative thinking, artful storytelling and communications
- Artist referrals
- Art promotion
- Informing artists about climate and systems level solutions
WHO WE WORK WITH:
We work with everyone who strives for change on a systems level, including NGOs, think tanks, governments and ethical companies, as well as with artists who want to make a difference with their work.
WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT:
Our staff combine expertise in climate change policy, campaign communications, arts management and creative thinking. This means we can offer interdisciplinary solutions and generate informed new strategic directions in the campaign or policy work of changemakers. We know how to communicate effectively to the unconverted and how to translate system change through creative means. We believe in solutions-focused and accessible art with popular appeal. Therefore, we have no interest in commissioning melting ice statues, or inaccessible art that remains stuck in small galleries and will not reach people’s daily lives. But we are interested in short films, graphic novels about system change, online games, iconic graffiti, tattoo artists or cultural events that can help mainstream the issues and, step by modest step, shift the public and political understanding of what is possible.
WHERE TO FIND US:
Swarm Dynamics is a cross-border organisation with the team being based in Belgium, the UK and Russia, and artists all around Europe, in Australia and Canada. We work anywhere where there is an opportunity to advance system change through creative means.
